Epson EB-1795F - the first ultra portable LCD Full-HD projector

The Epson EB-1795F is the first ultra portable LCD full-HD projector on the market and offers the optimal specifications for high-quality mobile presentations.

Ultra mobile

The Epson EB-1795F is one of the popular Epson EB-17xx series, which has found a firm home in the business world in recent years. The EB-1795F is one of the most mobile projectors on the market, no smaller LCD projector is available. The Epson EB-1795F is equipped with a full-HD resolution. Up to now, the projectors in the EB-17xx range were available with a maximum WXGA resolution. The projector has dimensions of 292 x 213 x 44 mm (WxDxH), a comparable footprint to an A4 sheet of paper. Thus, the EB-1795F fits comfortably into a large notebook case. With a weight of only 1.8 kg, the projector could easily be carried in your hand luggage when travelling on business. A carrying bag is included in the delivery.

WLAN & Miracast

Besides the usual connections, the Epson EB-1795F is well equipped when it comes to the topic of wireless. It has WLAN, which allows you to send content to the projector from a computer, smartphone or tablet. For this, you need the Epson iProjection software, which is available for platforms such as Windows, Mac, Android and iOS. Thanks to the NFC interface, which is also new to the EB-1795F, a fast connection is also possible. This of course only applies to smartphones and tablets that also support NFC.

In addition to WLAN, Miracast is also available. Miracast (also known as Screensharing) offers the possibility to send content from a Miracast-enabled smartphone or tablet to the projector. Using this system, 1080p streaming quality is possible, which is not the case with the WLAN function. This is great if you need to stream video content directly to the projector as part of your presentations and is the optimal wireless solution.

Gesture control

An interesting new feature for the Epson EB-1795F projector is the possibility to control your presentation with gesture’s. Here, the projected image is slightly reduced with the addition of a kind of touchbar projected on the left or right hand side. Here the presenter can command the presentation to advance to their next slide with a simple hand movement. To use this feature, the projector requires a USB connection to the PC or notebook, in addition to the HDMI or VGA connection.

Full HD resolution

As mentioned, the Epson 1795F is the first ultra portable LCD projector with Full-HD resolution. It offers the advantage that you have more picture space available in the usual presentations of PowerPoint, Word and Excel files. This is particularly useful for Excel files as you can display more columns and rows on screen. Photos are displayed with impressive detail and video’s in full HD quality. This can be an important factor, particularly in advertising and design jobs.

Other features

In addition to the features mentioned, the Epson EB-1795F offers further, practical features. This includes its split-screen function, which allows you to present the contents of two notebooks at the same time. For this, one source is connected via HDMI and one via VGA which allows you to easily compare information from two sources on the big screen.

A simple setup is also an appealing feature for the on the go business user. Thanks to its horizontal and vertical keystone correction (vertical +/- 30 degrees and horizontal +/- 20 degrees), this is no problem as it all works automatically. Thanks to the screen fit function, the image size can be corrected at the push of a button. It is also worth mentioning that the focus is also motor-driven.

Like the predecessors of the EB-17xx series, the 1795F supports 3-in-1 USB display, which allows the image, sound and control data to be transmitted via USB cable.

Specs

The 3LCD projector uses the 1920 x 1080 pixels of the full-HD resolution in a 16: 9 format. Its light output is at an attractive level of 3200 lumens and the contrast of 10,000: 1 is also appealing. In our Epson EB-1795F review it came out particularly well on representation of pictures.

Connections

Here, by comparison to the predecessors it has changed little for the better. It now has a MHL-capable HDMI connection. Here MHL-enabled smartphones and tablets can be connected via MHL cable along with other MHL dongles. In addition, there is a VGA input, an RCA video input and a 3.5 mm audio input. There is also a USB Type A and a USB Type B connection, not forgetting the Wi-Fi and Miracast interface.

Lens

The lens of the EB-1795F is wide-angle. It reaches an image width of 2m at a distance between 230 and 275 cm.

Delivery

In the box you will find a power cable, a VGA cable, a carry case and a CD-ROM manual.

Conclusion

The ultraportable Epson projector offers excellent conditions for mobile presentations thanks to its full HD resolution and a host of exciting features. Taking this into consideration, the Epson EB-1795F price is attractive
