ViewSonic IFP Series - Interactive Touch Displays for Meeting Rooms and Classrooms

The interactive touch displays of the ViewSonic IFP series are the optimal solution for interactive work on a large display. Thanks to their range of functions, they are not only suitable for meeting rooms, but also for use in the classroom.

Easy operation

Thanks to the foolproof operation of ViewSonic displays, integration into everyday work and school life is no problem at all. As soon as you equip or connect the display to a Windows 10 PC, you can work with the IFP just like on your usual PC and do not require any special training. In addition to this solution, practical ViewSonic tools are also available to make your everyday working and learning life more comfortable and effective. These software features are already integrated in the ViewSonic IFP displays and do not have to be purchased separately.

Surfing without a PC

Another advantage is the already integrated Android technology, which comes with a number of tools. This means you can surf the web, access cloud storage or play content on the display via the AirPlay app even without a PC. Thanks to the integrated ViewBoard or Floating Pen software, the ViewSonic IFP displays can be used in a variety of ways, even when no computer is connected.

Touch technology

The ViewSonic IFP series (Interactive Flat Panel) consists of several interactive touch displays in different sizes. Besides the size, they differ in their touch technology. A large part of the IFP series uses the proven infrared grid technology. Current ViewSonic IFP models already offer InGlass technology.

Infrared Touch vs. InGlass Touch

Viewsonic uses IR touch technology and InGlass touch technology within the IFP series. They differ in the processing of the touch signals.

Infrared Touch - The standard for large touch displays

Infrared touch technology is the most widely used touch technology for interactive displays. Here, an infrared grid is placed over the display surface, which scans the surface.

If you now work with your finger or pen on the IR touch display, the display converts the signals detected via infrared into movements on the display.

Advantages: Cheaper to produce, IR technology is easier to install on larger surfaces

Disadvantages: Under certain circumstances, it may drag slightly when writing quickly

InGlass Touch - Precise signal processing

Compared to the infrared technology, the newer InGlass Touch technology does not work above the glass, but inside it. The infrared scanning is no longer done above the display screen, but inside the glass.

The InGlass technology recognises where the touch is taking place by forming shadows and processes the signal more precisely. It is able to interpret the strength of the pressure and execute different functions depending on the strength of the pressure. Due to the technology, however, InGlass technology is not suitable for all display sizes.

Advantages: More accurate sensing for finer lines and better response time

Disadvantages: Not available in all sizes, more expensive

The ViewSonic ViewBoard Cast software, called vCast for short, enables several participants in a meeting to collaborate with different devices on an interactive ViewSonic touch display.

vCast supports common systems such as Windows, Mac, Android and iOS. For example, if you send content from a laptop with Windows or Mac system to the display via vCast, other users can connect via smartphone or tablet with Android and iOS operating system and place annotations on the shared content.

They then send it back to the display via vCast, which in turn distributes it to the other participants. Thus, the ViewSonic vCast software offers an excellent, interactive collaboration option.

The ViewSonic IFP5550-3 offers a diagonal of 55 ", which is suitable for small to medium-sized meeting rooms or classrooms. Thanks to the ViewBoard 2.1 software, it can be used perfectly for interactive working and learning. Its internal loudspeaker can be put to good use.

The most important features of the IFP series

4K resolution

In terms of display quality, the ViewSonic displays with their 4K panel are convincing all along the line. Thanks to the high-resolution display, your presentations will be an eye-catcher. Another advantage of the 4K resolution is that the accuracy with which you work on the touch display is increased.

350 cd/m²

Thanks to the 350 cd/m², the ViewSonic Touch Displays offer an excellent working basis in the most diverse lighting conditions. Even in bright rooms you can see the contents in a luminous brilliance thanks to this luminosity.

Floating Pen Technology

The IR Touch models of the ViewSonic IFP series are equipped with the Floating Pen feature. When you touch the display with two fingers at the same time, the floating pen menu automatically appears, allowing you to easily make annotations within the displayed content.

20-point touch

Thanks to the 20-point touch surface, ViewSonic touch displays offer convenient ease of use. This is particularly advantageous for working in smaller groups, as several people can work on the display at the same time. This feature is also interesting for use in schools, as several students can work actively on the touch display at the same time.

Viewboard 2.1 Software

The IR variants of the ViewSonic IFP series have the Viewboard 2.1 software. It is primarily designed for teaching and offers basic whiteboard functions. Of course, you can also use it in everyday business. In addition to annotations, the Viewboard software offers topic templates, support for multimedia content and screen recordings.

ViewBoard Cast

Another practical software solution for the ViewSonic IFP series is the ViewBoard Cast software. With it, you can easily share content. And not just within one system family. It works across systems with Windows, Mac, Android and iOS. The ViewBoard Cast software thus provides an excellent basis for cooperative work.

OPS Slot / PC Slot

The OPS slot / PC slot available in ViewSonic displays offers the option of equipping the interactive display with a slot-in computer. This gives you the simple operation of a Windows 10 PC with touch support on your display and allows you to use it like a tablet. Thanks to the intuitive handling of Windows 10, working with the interactive display is child's play. In addition, you can continue to use your familiar software environment. In addition to the ViewSonic computers for the PC slot, some models offer the open OPS slot standard.
