Movie Maker Mode

Most movies are recorded at 24 frames per second (fps). To display films exactly as the director intended, the W5800 supports 24P playback, which accepts high-resolution sources at 24 frames per second without judder in HDR mode to preserve the purity of the original image.

4K clarity through all-glass lens

The W5800 features an all-glass lens system with 14 elements coated in 7 groups with low dispersion materials, offering superior transparency that greatly reduces colour differences and reproduces 4K images in full clarity.

HDR Tone Mapping

BenQ's exclusive HDR-PRO technology enhances the 4K HDR experience with an improved two-step tone mapping that provides more balance between details in bright and dark scenes.

Locally optimised shadows and highlights

The industry-leading Local Contrast Enhancer (LCE) algorithm divides images into more than 1,000 zones. LCE analyses the brightness of each segment and adjusts the gamma independently to better define dark and bright details and increase image depth.

Comprehensive image optimisation

BenQ Dynamic Black technology dynamically adjusts the light output of the projection by detecting images for optimal contrast and lifelike images. Laser projectors equipped with a fast dimming function respond instantly to changes in brightness and deliver 20% higher contrast than other SSI models.

HDR video optimisation frame by frame

The new HDR10+ technology adds dynamic metadata to HDR10 source files, which is used to optimise each frame of HDR video to enhance details in bright and dark areas of HDR10+ content.

The W5800 features 2D lens shift (±50% vertical and ±21% horizontal) to deliver perfectly straight images without loss of resolution, allowing for more flexible installation and placement options.
