Short throw vs. long-distance projectors in golf simulators
Projection distance & placement of the projector
To ensure that a projector can fill the Impact projection screen completely with its projection, it must be positioned within its defined projection area. The projector’s ‘throw ratio’ determines the required distance from the projection screen. Furthermore, the projector should be perfectly aligned with the tee position to protect the valuable simulator equipment from stray shots and to prevent distracting shadows.
Smart features such as an optical zoom or built-in keystone correction give you the flexibility you need during installation to project the image onto the projection screen without distortion, even if the projector is positioned slightly off-centre.
A launch monitor tracks every shot you take with absolute precision and creates a realistic animation of the ball’s flight. Whether it’s a camera-based or radar-based launch monitor, it gives you the chance to work intensively on your handicap in winter or track your statistics on a real golf course in summer!
The highlights of a launch monitor:
- Realistic play feel: The highly precise tracking of the ball and club transfers your real flight path, including draw or slice, completely authentically to the virtual screen.
- Comprehensive data analysis: Detailed metrics such as spin rate, launch angle, and smash factor allow you to improve your swing in a targeted, data-driven manner.
- High software compatibility: Seamless integration with market-leading programs like GSPro or E6 Connect allows you to play rounds on world-famous courses.
- Indoor & outdoor flexibility: Thanks to its compact design and integrated battery, the device is ready for use both in your home simulator and on the real driving range.
