Strict fire safety regulations apply in public facilities such as airports. As videowalls can be classified as wall panelling, they must have the same fire protection properties as building materials. As metal is a non-combustible material with a high melting point, metal housings fulfil the fire safety regulations.

Metal is an excellent heat conductor and efficiently dissipates heat from the inside of the appliance to the outside. This protects the electronics and is crucial for the longevity and constant performance of the appliances. Plastic, on the other hand, insulates heat, which leads to a constant rise in temperature inside and has a negative effect on the service life.

Sharp's interactive touch displays are tools for active collaboration. As a "hands-on medium", they enable direct interaction with content using a pen or finger in meetings, workshops or in the education sector in order to develop ideas and impart knowledge together.

Sharp non-touch displays, on the other hand, are designed as "display media" for impressive information transfer and digital advertising (digital signage).
