For public viewing with a projector in the garden, we recommend a special inflatable outdoor screen or a mobile tripod projector screen with a sufficiently large projection surface (from approx. 200 cm wide for groups). A projection screen provides significantly better image quality than a house wall.
For stable public viewing, classic TV (satellite/cable) is often the better choice.
Streaming (e.g. via DAZN or MagentaTV): flexible, but dependent on internet quality and can therefore have delays.
TV signal: stable, usually without time delay.
👉 Particularly important for football, so that the picture and cheers come at the same time.
A projection screen offers better brightness, higher contrast and a more even image display.
👉 For the best public viewing experience, a projection screen should always be used.
The following points should be taken into account for private public viewing:
- Volume and consideration for neighbours
- secure power supply in the outdoor area
- stable signal source (TV or streaming)
- weather-protected installation of projectors & technology
Common causes of public viewing in the garden: too little brightness (too few lumens), too much ambient light and / or unsuitable projection surface.
👉 Solution: brighter projectors, better projection screens or darker surroundings.
Moisture, temperature differences and dirt can damage the technology.
👉 Always dismantle projectors after outdoor public viewing or store them in a protected place.
