Simple wireless image transmission for professional use

During conferences, presentations and meetings, the time available is often limited and you do not want to waste time connecting the devices you need. Finding the right plug in a tangle of cables is a time-consuming affair that only leads to frustration. Wireless presentation systems help immensely.

However, implementing a wireless image transmission system requires advance planning. Compatibility between devices and operating systems must be taken into account, as must integration into the existing IT structure.

Our BenQ InstaShow highlights

Expert Tip:

The output resolutions of the BenQ InstaShow systems are in the Full HD range. However, the larger model (WDC20) scales the output resolution up to 3840 x 2160. This way, you can also transfer UHD content from your notebook to a desired output device.

Efficient Wireless 4K Transmission

  • Suitable for business and private applications
  • point to point transmission of a HDMI signal
  • maximum 3840 x 2160 resolution

Wireless HD systems work without operating system and software. They can therefore be used independently of the PC system. You can also connect Blu-ray players or signage players to them.

Power supply

The receiver and transmitter of the systems must be supplied with power. There are variants that have to be supplied with mains power or USB power. Receivers that manage with the voltage of a USB port can be conveniently connected to projectors or displays with current-carrying USB interfaces.

Expert Tip:

Wireless HD systems can be used in everyday business or in home theaters. Depending on the system, they are often capable of 3D and audio transmission in addition to conventional image transmission.

Fast retrofitting of WLAN and WiFi

  • suitable for presentations
  • suitable for ad-hoc connection or network integration
  • acceptable image quality
  • limited suitability for videos
  • often proprietary solutions

Most projectors / displays do not have an integrated WLAN and must be retrofitted as an option. Manufacturer-specific solutions based on USB are usually available for this. Third-party solutions can often be used via HDMI (MHL).

Transmission quality

With business solutions, the transmission quality is often not as good as with consumer solutions. Therefore, it is recommended to use the wireless connection primarily for the transmission of presentations, texts and images. The transmission of video material should be avoided.

Icon Software

To use the wireless functions, you usually need the manufacturer's software. This is usually available for Windows and Mac systems. If necessary, additional app solutions for Android and iOS are offered.

Expert Tip:

The manufacturer Epson is the leader in WLAN solutions for projectors. This applies to the setup, transmission and security of the network. The quality even allows the use in secured networks of large corporations.
