Epson EH-TW9400 - high-end home theater for the home theater room
The Epson EH-TW9400 offers crisp, clear-cut images for home theater use with 4K enhancement technology. Added to this is excellent flexibility.
4K enhancement technology
In terms of resolution, the Epson EH-TW9400 is equipped with Full HD resolution with 1920 x 1080 pixels. The 0.74-inch MLA LCD panel offers 4K enhancement technology, the ability to shift the Full HD resolution. Thus, the Epson Beamer is able to display a 4K resolution with 3840 x 2160 pixels. Thanks to the 4K enhancement technology, the Epson TW9400 delivers excellent image clarity in terms of sharpness. You may think now that the difference from a real 4K - resolution is a strong difference. However, this is not the case. If you use a normal seat pitch with a typical image width for a projector, you will see little if any difference.
So that the 4K representation of the Epson projector not only in the resolution comes into its own, the 3LCD projector also supports HDR. The high dynamic range ensures a high contrast range, which makes the image content much better, as it appears in the normal SDR standard contrast range. The HDR playback came in the Epson EH-TW9400 test to its best advantage. The increased standard contrast of the projector comes to the HDR image in addition to good.
Another advantage for the good presentation is the Pro-UHD-4K enhancement technology. Compared to its predecessor, the Epson EH-TW9300, the image enhancing technology has been redesigned to produce an even better image. Thanks to Pro-UHD, the 4K image is even better.
Intermediate image calculation / Super Resolution
Thanks to the interframe calculation, called Epson Frame Interpolation, you can optimally display the image during fast movements. Thanks to the inserted intermediate images, drag effects are avoided and the image is displayed fluidly. The frame interpolation can be displayed in different stages, to taste. The interframe calculation is available in 2D and 3D .
Another feature that enhances image enhancement is Super Resolution. It calculates the individual pixels more precisely, which ensures a highlighting of the individual contents. Fine details in the picture are displayed even better. Especially contours of edges, which they otherwise did not notice, are more clearly represented thanks to the super resolution of the Epson EH-TW9400. This makes the picture even more realistic. The Super Resolution is also available in 2D and 3D modes.
Lens / Lens Shift
One point that is particularly strong in the Epson home theater projectors is the optics and the lens shift function. In terms of optics, the Epson TW9400 offers a 2.1x zoom . With it, the projector reaches a picture width of 2 m at a distance of about 270 to 560 cm. He can be optimally placed in the home theater room. The picture width can of course be varied as well.
Another plus that makes the Epson EH-TW9400 affordable in setup is the vertical and horizontal lens shift function. With it you are able to move the image vertically and horizontally via remote control. The vertical offset in this case is +/- 96.3% and the horizontal offset is +/- 47.1%. This makes it easy to align the picture on the screen. Even flat lamps on the ceiling you can dodge, without dismantling them. A big advantage of the Lens-Shift function is that it has no negative impact on image quality, as it is an optical offset.
If the lens shift function is not sufficient, the TW9400 also offers a vertical keystone correction of +/- 30 degrees. Thus, slight changes in the corners can be compensated for a slight inclination.
The zoom , the lens shift function and the focus can be adjusted via remote control.
For optimal use of multi-format screens, the projector offers 10 different lens locations.
3D
As befits a good home theater projector, the Epson EH-TW9400 is 3D capable. He relies on a Bluetooth control of the 3D glasses (RF technology). The transmitter is installed in the projector and extends up to 6 m around the device. He covers the usual sizes of a living room or home cinema room.
The compatible 3D glasses are the Epson ELPGS03 3D Eyewear .
In terms of 3D, the projector offers the 2D to 3D feature, in which it is able to display a 2D Blu-ray in 3D. Qualitatively the result is not enough for an original 3D movie, but you can get a good impression of the movie in 3D .
color adjustment
For optimal color adjustment, the Epson EH-TW9400 offers a variety of modes that allow color management to adapt to your needs. The modes include Dynamic, Bright Cinema, Natural, Cinema, Digital Cinema, 3D Dynamic and 3D Cinema. They are optimally matched to the respective areas.
For even better color quality, the TW9400 offers the option of being calibrated to the ISF standard.

However, it also offers the wireless HD function, which the Epson TW9400 dispenses with.
