BenQ InstaShow - Intuitive Plug & Play Wireless Solution

BenQ InstaShow is the wireless presentation solution from the well-known projector and monitor manufacturer. Similar to the Barco system, it uses a receiver and a transmitter unit. BenQ offers product models with two different connection options. The WDC10 and WDC20 models are connected to a notebook or PC via USB (power supply) and HDMI (image transmission). The WDC10C model, on the other hand, only comes with a USB-C connection. celexon WHD30M-4K - The affordable alternative

celexon WHD30M-4K is not an explicit presentation system. However, it can be successfully used as one. The only limitation is the number of participants: Only one participant can transmit from one device. This is because the celexon WHD30M-4K is basically a wireless bridge that is set up between a receiver and a transmitter. This can be used to transmit any multimedia content in 4K resolution, from a presentation to videos. After a one-time setup, the transmitter module can be connected via HDMI to any device with an HDMI port. Power is supplied via USB or mains adapter.

The biggest advantages of the celexon WHD30M-4K solution include interference-free and secure transmission in the 60 GHz frequency band as well as very good audio quality with up to 7.1 surround channel support.

Wireless presentation systems: The most frequently asked questions

In this clear compilation of the most frequently asked questions about wireless presentation systems, you will learn the most important facts and details. We have added additional information to the respective product. Take a look!

What is a wireless presentation system?

A wireless presentation system is a technical solution based on wireless transmission that is mainly used for wireless streaming vof visual media content and screen mirroring. Here, depending on the presentation system, notebooks, PCs as well as mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones can be wirelessly connected to the display device. In addition to image transmission, additional administrative features are usually offered.

The WLAN frequency ranges 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 60 GHz are usually used for data transmission. The first two frequency ranges have a greater range than the 60 GHz frequency range and are used more often. However, they are also more susceptible to interference. The 60 GHz frequency range therefore has a small advantage in terms of interference-free transmission of the signal.

The 60 GHz frequency range is also characterised by a better transmission rate. However, since the frequencies in this range cannot penetrate obstacles such as room walls, the WLAN transmission range is limited to one room.

Why do I need a wireless presentation system?

A wireless presentation system can be used almost anywhere. Both in conference rooms of a large company and in seminar rooms of a university, wireless presentation systems offer the necessary flexibility and efficiency for presentations, lectures and collaborative work. The big advantage here is wireless freedom.

All wireless presentation systems are designed for maximum simplicity and intuitive operation. Therefore, the implementation of a wireless presentation system is always accompanied by immense time savings.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of a wireless presentation system?

The biggest advantage of a wireless presentation system is obvious: the cabling of individual devices that you would otherwise need to connect to a screen or a projector are no longer required. This also reduces the time required immensely. Switching between the presentations of several participants is also much smoother and less complicated.

Wireless presentation systems do not really have any disadvantages worth mentioning. Only the associated acquisition costs, which can be comparatively high depending on the functions and included accessories, could be mentioned at this point. However, an investment in a wireless presentation system is worthwhile thanks to the considerable time savings once set up.

How much does a wireless presentation system cost?

The price of a wireless presentation system depends strongly on the technical features, the functionality and what's included in the box. Cheaper systems such as Airtame are in the £500 range, more expensive, but also much better equipped systems such as Kramer VIA Connect Pro or Barco ClickShare are in excess of £1,000.

How do I install a wireless presentation system?

All wireless presentation systems have compact dimensions, so they are usually very easy to install. As a rule, the receiver is set up first. This is connected by cable to the available display device, such as a display or projector, its then supplied with power via a mains adapter. In addition, some models can be connected to the local network via LAN cable.

If your wireless system such as Barco ClickShare or BenQ InstaShow has dongles, these are then connected to a device from which you want to present. Further steps depend heavily on the particular wireless presentation system. Usually, a built-in installation wizard will guide you through these steps. Usually, the complete setup of the device is then completed in a few minutes. For systems that are capable of meeting a high security standard on request, you should carry out the setup together with your network administrator.
